Phoenix Rock Show
Phoenix Rock Show
Named after Bill Hicks' legendary comedy routine, Just A Ride is a dynamic four-piece band whose music is a fusion of nu-metal, punk, and alternative rock, all rolled up into electrifying grunge-inspired anthems. Inspired by Hicks' philosophy and outlook, the band’s music challenges listeners to ask difficult questions while advocating for positivity and love in the face of the fear and doubt we are inundated with across all forms of media.
Definite influences of Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, Janes Addiction and more, they released their eponymous debut album in 2022 and more recently the Waiting EP
I have had the pleasure of seeing these guys live and if you check out the official video for Waiting you might spot a very short cameo from yours truly and his hat :)

Now you may have already seen this band under the FFO Rush and indeed their more recent music including their debut album.
However Zach's voice and their two EPs prior were definitely grunge influenced with a leaning towards Alice In Chains.....
A young trio from South Devon, Ben and Zach Cornish on Guitar/backing vocals and Bass/lead vocals respectively and Dan Aston on drums. They are Ethyrfield their first two EPs were fairly grunge influenced FFO Alice in Chains etc, but in 2021 they released their debut album In Delirium and the Rush and Dream Theater influences are apparent, as their music and they as performers have matured. They have been making jaws drop live since they were 13/15/16 years old. They have completed their first UK tour supporting the Von Hertzen Brothers gaining lots of new fans. I have seen these guys probably more than any other band.

Hole Tripper is an English rock band. The band are from the South West and the first album was recorded in two separate studios; a hundred miles apart with the band never playing a note together in the same place. The band’s debut album was named Hundred Miles Out of Time as a nod to the geographical separation when recording the album, that some of the songs were written way back, and, as a nod to the singer’s comical timing challenges when trying to sing and play the guitar at the same time.
Hole Tripper is a remote band, ludicrously out of their own time zone, laughing at life and making music. Since the early cupboard-dwelling days of creating tunes using YouTube videos and learning on the fly, they have teamed up with gifted producer Dev Crawford and the latest outcome of this collaboration is the track Don’t Mind Me.
They are great supporters of the show and we try to play all their new releases. There is also a lot more to this duo than they have written on their Bio.
The band is influenced by early 90s alternative rock and whilst they would love to discover time travel if you’re not going forwards, you’re going backwards. The music sticks to its roots but also wants to push forward the genre; one riff at a time ….
