Debut single by the Plymouth rock band made up of drummer James Doonan, Bassist Dave Fleming, Lead Guitar is Jon Hall and Chris Taylor on lead vocals and rhythm guitar.
A charity venture to raise money for veterans struggling with their mental health, it tells the story of a soldier back from war struggling with his experience and life after deployment to Afghanistan.
THE MONEY YOU SPEND ON DOWNLOADING THIS TRACK (less Bandcamp & Paypals share) GOES TO THE VETERANS FOUNDATION AND HELPS THEM SUPPORT VETERANS STRUGGLING WITH THEIR MENTAL HEALTH.
Front man Chris Taylor a former British Army surgeon served for 22 years, with tours of Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan. The lyrics were penned after learning of the suicides of a fellow military doctor and a friend and compatriot from his time at Sandhurst. It also coincided with colleagues beginning to open up about their time working in the military role 4 facility at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham and deployments to the field hospital at Camp Bastion, and how that experience had negatively impacted their mental health.
The band wrote this song around those lyrics and the idea to use it to raise awareness and money to support veterans with PTSD quickly formed. They teamed up with ex-Royal Marines Ross Barrett videographer and budding actor Joe Webster to create an impactful music video which portrays the mental health legacy of experience on the front line, and the effect on integrating back into society and with family life).

The Phoenix Rock Show had the pleasure of being asked to provide the "incidental" music for the Saturday, performing for the first hour and then in between each of the bands. Placed in a tent to the side of the stage with the video team and press, due to one of the bands wanting a clear stage. I couldn't see or hear the stage and initially relied on radio calls. However after playing Van Halen's Jump over a Krushanory story, I partnered up with Globegig as they supplied me with a Krusher Kam so I could see when he finished speaking.
The biggest challenge came as the video guys and I had time the soundtrack and the video start for the BOC intro video. it was high fives all round as we nailed it,
I had the great priviledge to be invited to compere this amazing three day, 22 band festival in Hangar18 in Swansea. This isn't really a review, more of a record of my thoughts and memories with some of the 150+ photos I took over the weekend.
Adam & The Hellcats release their eagerly anticipated follow up to Claws Out on 1st Feb, a 12 track, genre bending album available on CD and streaming services. Check out my review Here
Performing classic Magnum tracks from 1978 - 1994
This is not a tribute band, with three former members of Magnum in this line up ably completed by quality musicians and vocalist.
This is an album full of stonking heavy riffs but not much in the way of guitar gymnastics, just good solid tracks. A great debut album
My first gig review, and it was an absolute cracker
This was my first ever album review, I delivered it live on the Phoenix Rock Show in August 2020 and then published on the Phoenix Rock Show Facebook page
