Ethyrfield
A young trio from South Devon, Ben and Zach Cornish on Guitar/backing vocals and Bass/lead vocals respectively and Dan Aston on drums. They are Ethyrfield their first two EPs were fairly grunge influenced FFO Alice in Chains etc, but in 2021 they released their debut album In Delirium and the Rush and Dream Theater influences are apparent, as their music and they as performers have matured. They have been making jaws drop live since they were 13/15/16 years old. They have completed their first UK tour supporting the Von Hertzen Brothers gaining lots of new fans. I have seen these guys probably more than any other band.

Twisted Illusion
Twisted Illusion the music is pretty epic, I believe they are from Manchester and for a long time I thought they were a solo project by Matt Jones, but they are indeed a five piece with Matt on Guitar and vocals, Saxon Davids Guitar/vocals, Zach Robinson Guitar/Vocals, Phil Shackley Drums/vocals and Andy Gotteri on Keys.
They have four albums on the streaming services, all "released" in 2021, however I believe prior to 2021 the albums are all available on Band Camp (there are 12 released on there). The vocals are off the scale with definite nods to Rush, Yes, Toto, Boston and Marillion to name a few.
Fifth album Upstairs To Optimism is set for release on 28/04/23

Sons Of Apollo
The third band formed in 2017, but in a way is a bit of a cheat as its more of a supergroup than a new band influenced by...
The band is Sons Of Apollo and are composed of drummer Mike Portnoy, bassist Billy Sheehan, keyboardist Derek Sherinian, vocalist Jeff Scott Soto, and guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal. They released their debut album in 2017 and their second in 2020 entitled MMXX.
With this line up the results are only going to be spectacular, a little heavier than I expected, but to be fair that was refreshing.

Pennies By The Pound
Hailing from Helsinki, Pennies by the Pound was formed in 2016 by Johannes Susitaival as a solo project, but quickly expanded, involving musicians from his past bands. Their unique sound blends '80s prog rock and '90s-early '00s alternative rock. Heavily guitar-driven with a touch of keyboards, they love big choruses, guitar and keyboard solos, bridges and grandiose arrangements.
